The Bilt Rewards app adds real-time rewards availability powered by Point.me

Bilt Rewards and Point.me are two useful programs that have entered the travel space in the last few years. Bilt Awards it’s a rewards program Bilt Mastercard®, which allows you to earn points while paying rent. meanwhile, Point.me integrates rewards search from many airline loyalty programs into one list of results.

You can sync your loyalty accounts with Point.me to receive offers to use your existing points and miles to book award flights. Point.me has long supported major transferable currencies, e.g Chase Ultimate Rewards and American Express Membership Rewardsbut not Bilt Rewards — until this year.

Earlier this month, Point.me added support for finding Bilt Rewards and its transfer partners. And on Wednesday, Bilt announced a new integration with Point.me. Here’s what you need to know.

Bilt members can now enjoy what Bilt calls “Bilt Transfer Partners experiences” using Point.me-powered Bilt app search. You can now see real-time award availability for all airline programs you can join transfer of Bilt points. In particular, you will see the presence of:

To search for award flights with these partners, log into your Bilt Rewards program and go to the Rewards screen. Select the Travel tab, click Flights, then Transfer Partners. You will see a screen where you can enter the point of departure, destination, date of departure, date of return (if desired), number of passengers and desired cabin class.

Bilt members can continue to use the Point.me website as normal (with the addition of Bilt Rewards as a transfer partner) after subscribing to a Point.me plan or purchasing a day pass. And the benefit of this is that you will also see results from programs that are not Bilt Transfer partners. But now, Bilt members don’t have to pay for a day pass or a Point.me subscription if they want to search only on airline loyalty programs that partner with Bilt Rewards.

Only active Bilt members can use the built-in Point.me rewards search in the Bilt Rewards app. I’m not an active member because I don’t pay rent and see no reason to add Bilt Mastercard in my wallet. So I couldn’t see any results after downloading the Bilt Rewards app, creating an account, and trying a search query.

Since this post is about Bilt, I should mention that some Bilt members have recently experienced fraudulent charges to their Bilt Mastercard. Credit card fraud it’s not uncommon, but one TPG employee reported, “Everyone I know has had problems with the card both in and out of the rewards travel world.” In a statement to Frequent MillerBilt Rewards noted that this is the result of “BIN attacks” in which randomly generated card numbers are used to make fraudulent purchases.

I wouldn’t allow it credit card fraud keep me from signing up for the Bilt Mastercard when I felt it was the right card for me. Again, fraudulent charges are relatively common, although we’re not sure how widespread the Bilt attack is. While you monitor the transactions in your account and carry multiple cardsthe recent fraud issues should be a bit of an inconvenience.

However, if you have a Bilt Mastercard in your wallet, keep an extra close eye on your account and report any fraudulent transactions as soon as you see them.

Bottom line

Nice to see this new integration of Point.me and Bilt Rewards. Point.me is a great resource for award travelers because it makes it easy to find and book award travel regardless of your knowledge of points and miles.

Of course, you’ll want to check all of your redemption options before transferring your Bilt Rewards points to a partner airline. In some cases, you may discover it redemption of Bilt Rewards points for traveling around Bilt Rewards travel portal provides the best value. When you book travel through the portal, you’ll earn a redemption value of 1.25 cents per point. Also worth considering are the value of non-airline Bilt Rewards transfer partners, e.g Hyatt Worldwhere you can usually get 2 cents or more per point of hotel stay.
