The couple meets while they were in high school and started dating in 1996. Although they attended different schools, they connected when Juan’s basketball team played against Robyn’s school – and he caught her staring at her in the stands.

After high school, Juan went on to play college basketball for the University of Maryland. After graduation, he was drafted by the Washington Wizards in 2002.
